Congressmen Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36-D) and Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08-R), both physicians and members of the important U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee led a bipartisan letter to CMS urging the agency to adopt a more flexible policy with respect to establishing Medicare funded GME caps. Doctors Ruiz and Bucshon were joined by 36 of their colleagues, including prominent members of House Republican and Democratic Leadership, Committee Chairman and Ranking Members, asd well as members other members of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, the House committee with primary jurisdiction over federal graduate medical education policy.
